AUGUST NEWS!!

“Black Listed”!

Yea!, I am still here readers!. The question is, are you still reading? I finished July news on a high “Valium”! only Joking!

So let’s start August on a high!!

August 9th Lek was here visiting me for our monthly visit.

4 years 4 months now since my arrest and Leks never missed a single visit. What loyalty!, quite remarkable!

No disrespect to you ladies out there, but how many of you would stand by your husband after that length of time, and under these circumstances? Be honest and think about it long and hard, would you?, could you? I ain’t shy or too macho to say:- “ I love Lek to pieces”, and wouldn’t change her for any lady on this planet.

I once asked Lek on a visit:-“Darling how long you think I stay in prison? And as calm as anything and as if she was talking about a few days she said:-“about 15 years darling!, no problem I wait you”!

You know what readers!, she was dead set serious.

I know it won’t be 15 years Lek has to wait, but in her mind she don’t!

“The little terrorist” didn’t make this monthly visit!, the bus company banned him for life, after last month Oak pulled his replica plastic gun on the driver and demanded he ram the bus through the prison main gate and bring his daddy home, Bless him!

Only joking readers! (But give him time)!!

The truth is! Oak is so much of a handful for Lek to handle alone, he needs an armed escort of 2 people when ever he goes anywhere. That means double the expense in bus fares, as much as I would love to see the trigger happy little terrorist every month.

That saving of a bus fare for an extra guard, feeds Lek and our family for a whole week.

Not to worry readers!, Oak more than makes up for it when he does come, there’s not a single visitor in the visiting area that don’t know of his presence there.

I seriously think when little Oak realizes I am in prison and it’s the guards that are keeping me here, they will have a serious problem with Oak, as he aint half a head strong little chap!

More letters arrived this week with again Bin Laden pleading with me to give my permission for him to recruit Oak!, No Way Bin!! (I get so easily side tracked when I think to our gorgeous son).

Shit!! we could get up to so much mischief together if we were out there together!!

Okay!, Okay!, back to Lek’s visit!, as I sat there opposite her mesmerized by her beauty and innocence, ( sweet talking B_st_rd aint I?)

On the far side of the visit area, I saw Kate Dufall and Jeff of my Embassy approaching, just typical they show up today, and I will now loose precious minutes of my visit with Lek.

We had already lost a visit yesterday, when the guards refused to let Lek visit me, saying the Governor of Bangkwang refused to sign Lek’s visiting paper the Embassy had issued.

It had never been a problem before in over 4 years, one guard on the prison gate did, un-officially remark to Lek:-“Your husband make too much trouble with his web site, tell him stop”. Strangely the prison authorities are still yet to officially confront me over it, although I’ve been expecting them to every day now for the past 2 years or so. (Yesterday was the first reprisals).

A month or so back, I did get confirmation that my web site is on a Thailand Government black list to be un-officially BLOCKED!!

It’s only (periodically inaccessible) within Thailand. “The rest of the world is fine”.

They can not legally block it without an official Court Order!, which they don’t have yet!

This is why it is only periodically being blocked with an illegal virus!, making it either in-accessible or it times out before the web site comes up! If they had the court order an official Government or Police notice would appear when you access the site.

I knew and weight up the risks of reprisals/retaliation of being so critical of the Judicial and prison system here, and to a lot of extent (the precious Government under Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra) affectionally known to many here as “Toxin” Shinawatra!!! I think I will have to go into “Mr. Toxin” in maybe next months news. The reprisals/retaliation I thought about long and hard before starting this web site, and they could come in the form of punishment to me within the prison. I don’t want to go into what they might be! No point in giving them any ideas and they haven’t happened yet!, so no point going into them.

Stopping Lek visiting the other day was a LOW ACT, when you consider she, we can only manage one monthly visit. She always stays one night in a hotel, so we can have 2 consecutive days of visits, as it’s over a 1000km round trip,9 to 10 hour bus journey each way from her home.

Lek was just as much angry at losing a days visit as she was at losing the expense of paying the hotel for the night for nothing, a considerable amount of money which again would have kept Lek and our family for the best part of a week. Wasted!

I’ve written to the Governor of Bangkwang Prison about this! Lets see how he responds!

To change anything for the better you have to speak out!, I guess I am a stubborn Bastard basically!, (far from the smartest of people at times). So I went with the “shock”, “horror” and “hard hitting”, “critical” of the system here. I said I wouldn’t give them any ideas, but sod um!.

The worst they can do to me is refuse my transfer home and they can do this without having to give a reason, probably just as bad, worse really is they flatly refuse my plea for clemency:- My petition to his Royal Majesty the King of Thailand, for a royal pardon. Hence Bert dropping out of writing the news letters, and now your stuck with me. The stubborn bastard who can’t write shit!

Back to the visit! I excused myself from Lek to grab 3 minutes with Kate and Jeff from my Embassy.

Really glad I did as they had good news for me! The Thai Transfer Committee had just this morning telephoned the Embassy to say they had approved my transfer to England.

I rushed back to Lek on the visit to give her the good news!

Which again now with both Countries agreed to my transfer, it really strengthens Lek’s visa appeal.

“Don’t worry darling” I managed to say, “it’s all falling into place, good for us and all helps your visa appeal”. Then the phone went dead end of visit!

Lek was happy and smiling as she left, blowing me a kiss and mouthing “I love you”.

Shit!!, we didn’t get much of a visit, but it was good news again! 3 people I must mention who all do fantastic work for prisoners and their families and for the cause of us all are:- Tony Fox, Martin Hodgson and my true friend Kay danes, who un-be-known to me, off her own back, of such kindness launched a Steve Willcox Campaign complete with photos of my son “Oak, really touched me Kay!! Check it out readers on www.foreignprisoners.com , you will probably have to print in my name. “Love you for what you did there for me Kay”

With August news letter now complete and me in the driving seat, I will promise to keep proper records of visitors, people who write to me and try to mention you all, in new news letters I write from now on!

Trying to piece together the last 5 months in one go, was difficultto say the least! A big sorry to all those people not mentioned! You know who you all are and I sincerely appreciate you all.

A special thank you to “Ulla” who runs this site for me, all out of love and kindness and to your husband Paul. Love you both my dear friends.

See you in September readers!

Wishing you all good health and happiness
