September News!!

A Picture speaks a thousand words

September without doubt has just been the happiest month ever!! Weekly visits with my parents and Lek and Oak.

Even Gale who helped out so much with Lek and Oak’s arrangements last month in Thailand was in England for a short visit and also managed to visit me, great to see you Gale!

Also pat and Della I enjoyed your visit so much.

Thanks to my mum and dad, Paula (my sister) and all her family especially Megan, Carla and Ollie and so so many of our family, too many to mention all by name, friends and family have all made Lek and Oak so so welcome.

People have all been so kind and generous; Lek and Oak have settled in so well and are both extremely happy.

After little over a week here, Oak started in school, he’s doing remarkably well, when you think last month he didn’t speak more than a few words of English.

His new school and teachers have been more than accommodating even taking the time to learn a few words of Thai language to welcome and make Oak feel at home.

Both Lek and Oak’s English is improving rapidly and they go from strength to strength. They are both adapting far quicker than I thought they would.

By far the biggest sacrifice made was that made by my parents taking Lek and Oak into their home to live with them. Oak is a real funny character, very loving, very hypoactive, very demanding of Lek, at times quite a hectic and trying child. Those of you who’ve met Oak will appreciate just how much my mum and dad have taken on.

You will be relieved to know, Oak’s tantrums are getting fewer and he’s really making great headway.

Gone is the nickname “The little Terrorist” given to him by the British Embassy staff in Bangkok Thailand.

Prison visits in Thailand between me and Oak were few and far between, the visit area in a Thai Prison was far from adequate. Only now after 5 years of imprisonment, I am now able to start as best as possible a relationship with my son Oak.

Oak after only a few visits, now for the first time recognizes me as his dad and each and every weekly visit he gets more and more at ease with me. The relationship of father and son I’ve longed for is now beginning.

As the title of this Newsletter suggests:-

“A picture speaks a thousand words”.

I (we) now share with you some of our favorite photos of Lek and Oak since their arrival.

From left to right: “Lek” (my adorable wife), “Oak” (our all so cute son)- complete with Thai style top knot in his hair. “Megan” (my all so beautiful niece)

Oak always in his NO CRACKS and ELEMENT when Megan’s around. Megan is by far his favorite!

I know!! Oak looks like a little girl with his long hair. Oak has never allowed anybody to cut his hair. Everyone of Lek’s attempts to get Oak to the Barbers shop in Thailand to cut his hair failed miserably.

“Oak” complete with a new hair cut he actually requested!

“me” keeping a tight grip on the ever so hypoactive Oak!

“Lek” with a satisfying smile, the 3 of us together on a visit at Rye Hill prison, Warwickshire.

“Oak”, here in the comfort of my parents home and arms of Megan. Oak not shy when it comes to giving Megan a smacker! What a beautiful photo and pretty pair they make.

“Lek” and “Oak” looking smart Oak!!, real good in your school uniform!! “Can I take the scooter to school with me mum?”

“Oak” in the land of Nod. Probably my favorite photo of Oak! Many might say:- (Oak at his best and cutest)

Well readers, I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I did. I got to be the luckiest man alive with the family I have.

Mum and dad you made this possible, for which we are eternally

grateful.

Love you all to bits
